Star-Studded 1st Annual Fighting For A Cause Benefit To Knock Out Dog Fighting to be held at The Falcon in Hollywood, CA on Saturday February 19, 2011.

March 19, 2010 – For Pits’ Sake, Inc. today announced that its 1st Annual Fighting For A Cause Benefit to Knock Out Dog Fighting will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011. The red carpet event, sponsored by the Latino Marketing Network, will be held from 8pm – 11pm at The Falcon Restaurant and Lounge in Hollywood, California.

The benefit is being hosted by celebrity photographer Christopher Ameruoso and comedienne Debra Wilson and is expected to draw hundreds of supporters including community leaders, celebrities and some of the world’s top professional boxers and MMA fighters such as Bas Rutten, Frank Shamrock, Randy Couture, Cris and Evangelista Santos, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, the LA Matadors Boxing Team, Rich Power and many more!

Knock Out Dog Fighting, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization program, works with professional boxers and MMA fighters in partnership with schools, Boys & Girls Clubs, juvenile detention centers, gang prevention task forces and law enforcement agencies to each children and young adults that it’s not a sign of strength, power or greatness to fight, torture and abuse animals. Who better to do this than some of the toughest men an women on the planet?!

The program has been recognized by the White House, the American Red Cross, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the American Institute For Public Service, the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.), and many others.

“Many people condemn dog fighting, but that’s where they stop. Simply condemning dog fighting isn’t enough, action must be taken to stop the torture of these animals,” said Kris Crawford, founder of the Knock Out Dog Fighting program. “The Knock Out Dog Fighting program takes a proactive approach to knocking out dog fighting by working with young people and addressing the underlying reasons they are fighting dogs.”

Dog fighting is animal abuse and research shows there is a direct link between those who abuse animals and those who go on to commit violent crimes against people. “People abuse animals for the same reasons they abuse people,” adds Crawford. “So if we can stop a child from abusing an animal, we not only save the animals, we save our children and our communities!”

The cover charge for the Fighting For A Cause event is $50 and 100% of the cover charge will go directly to the charity. Attendees will be able to meet many of the professional boxers and MMA fighters who have joined the movement to Knock Out Dog Fighting.

“We are honored to support the Fighting For A Cause benefit to Knock Out Dog Fighting,” said Jesse Mandujano, CEO of the Latino Marketing Network. “Knock Out Dog Fighting is a life changing program, not only for the animals and people they fight to save and protect but for the thousands of individuals whose lives they touch through the work they do. The Latino Marketing Network is joining the fight to Knock Out Dog Fighting. We hope you will join us as well.”
